6/19/09: Health & Safety Concerns at Forefront of URJ Camps’ Response to Flu

The Union for Reform Judaism and its 12 camps throughout North America are committed to the Health and Safety of every child entrusted to our care. Our concern for campers is realized in the creation of caring communities at each camp. The program at each camp endeavors to enrich and transform lives by strengthening Jewish identity, teaching Jewish knowledge, instilling Jewish values and cultivating lifelong friendships within a vibrant and fun community of living Reform Judaism. All of our camps are accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA) and the Ontario Camping Association (OCA) in Candada.

Please know that the URJ Camps are committed to every child. Contact the URJ Camp in your area now to see if arrangements are possible. Do not take this summer off. No one should be shy about asking for assistance – everyone knows it’s tough out there.

Everyone is being touched by our nation’s economic crisis in one way or another. In difficult times like these, our children – well attuned to what is going on in the world, especially what’s going on in their own homes – need camp. They need the security, the community and the spiritual nourishment that camp provides. They need to spend time in an immersive environment created just for them. And they, too, need a break from the stress.

We are committed to every child, please let them know camp is there for them.
